On The Nightstand

The nightstand is EMPTY except for a clock radio that unfortunately does not throw buckets of water to wake me up in the morning! It needs some new books. Any recommendations, readers???

I tend to gravitate toward historical fiction, classics that I never got to read, bestsellers that are not murder, mystery, lawyer, thriller. More along the lines of “Room”, “The Help”, “The Paris Wife”, “The Glass Castle”, etc

  1. I totally loved The Book Thief, which Kate recommended in our spring class. It was outstanding! I’d loan it to you, but I picked it up on Kindle.

  2. I, too, recommend The Book Thief, without reservations. Three other books that immediately spring to mind are A Death in the Family by James Agee; As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner; Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Charles Johnson. With the exception of The Book Thief, I have revisited these books. By the way, thanks so much for following my blog.

I can't wait to read your thoughts
